Nice one, I've not missed work yet because of Civ, but I have gone in after only an hours sleep having been reminded when the sun came up....

I have gone to class a few times like that myself. What makes it worse is that my roommate was a (Mac) Civ player, and when conquests came out for a couple of weeks we would each keep looking over at each other while playing and think "well, he is still playing, so nothing wrong with me playing." Sucked that we couldn't play against each other, though that may have only meant more time spent on Civ. Of course, I would have kicked his ass anyway.
