I may be an old man, but I have absolutely no interest in this.

I can imagine play by text could be quite expensive.

There's a review on IGN, apparently you can already buy this on jamba.nl. It looks just as appealing as civ1, graphically speaking.

got it. First impression
So far its civ1, despite the developer claims. Setup options - Small or Large World, 3 to 5 civs Indian, American, Rome (i forget the other two). start at 4000BC, adjust eyes to squint level as its real small, 11 x 11 squares on a 2" by 1.5" screen. Looks just like Civ1 Build city, can build militia, barracks or settler..wonder what i have to do to get a worker ahh iirc settlers have worker capability in civ1....See it is civ1. I'm struggling to identify some of the little resource icons, anybody got an electronic copy of civ1 manual? |

I think I'll wait until they make a version for the DS or PSP. The DS should be able to run civ2 easily, plus the touchscreen could make it work. The PSP could do something like civ3, but thinking about the controls make me shiver.
