gruenSchWein's Grünclub thread
After almost 2 months I finally got a team. It seems I got a used one formerly known as "Preetzer Kickers". I was placed into a league in the German 8th divison "Series: VIII.851 (65218)". My team number is 132354.

Ok, although I read various advice threads here and on other sites some more questions:
It seems it is interseason now. Should I draft youth players? Invest in Youth Squad? Specialist worth it for me already? My arena has a capacity of 12.000 (3.000 seats, 1.000 under roof). Seems ok for 8th league, is it? Any other tips?

I have already been challenged for a friendly match using cup rules tonight. I should accept and put the players I want to profit from training into the team setup, correct? Only these players profit from the training?

And after long downtime delay:
Looking at your players I'd go with forward training: Wilderer, 20 years, passable scoring Braeanov, 19 years, passable scoring Kunheim, 24 years, passable scoring And you could even consider adding Wachtler to that list although is 25 and is your best defender so I;d let him defend. Better trainees than I;ve ever seen in a starting team. Buy yourself a few <20 years passable forwards after the next season has started and you're in business. Investing in a youth squad is always worth while, start with 5K or 10k. Never lower the amount you're spending on it, you'll lose a lvl immediately! Pull a youth player every week, chances are slim you get a decent one as long as your YS is crappy, but you never know. 12.000 seats is enough for 8th division When you accept the friendly you should field the players you want to train on the position that applies to their training. So should you decide to train scoring only your forwards will receive training!

Agree with PP, very nice squad you have to start with. But obviously you lack a good goalie. That's what I would be looking for first on the transfer market. But chances are that in the first few pulls you might already get a better one from your youth squad than your current one so might want to try that in stead(and I would always invest in my YS, even in the early days I already had some decent pulls).

Start by training Stamina (Quick glance you average poor!) for at least 2 weeks, by then you can always decide what to train long term.

What I do not quite get:
If I train scoring, only the players playing offense will profit, but that is still better than training stamina, which all players will profit from? Does it make any sense to aim to win the (friendly/cup rules) game, or is it better just to field the players I want to train?

stamina training: all players receive training. Officially (accroding Hattrick rules) only players that have been fielded should receive training but in reality they all receive training
Scroing training: only players that play on the forward positions on league and friendly match receive training. Please note: offensive does not equal forward!!!! So for the interseason weeks, where you only get one match, stamina training is always a solid choice! However stamina training loses you form and generally players gain a stamina level each week, so generally you dont want nor need to train stamina for a long time. On top of that it's not very profitable unless you start playmaker daytrading schemes. Very time consuming and murder on your TS, ask Kemal he's the xpert on this. Forward training will improve your forwards and thus make em more expensive. Especially in lower level leagues this will be your primary source of income, I used to be happy if I wouldn't lose money during 'normal' league period untill I hit 6th div. So you could opt for : - 2 weeks of stamina - switch to scoring On top of that is doesnt matter one bit if you win/lose a friendly match (no matter the cup/.normal rules) so just field the players you wanna train.

Ok, so I will keep my training on stamina for now (as I set it that way before the forum was back). I already increased my stadium, since I read prices will go up drastically once the season starts, I'll see how wasted that was...
Lastly one more question before my first match: Does it change training success if a player is fielded from the start or is replaced (into or out of the game) during the match? (Though it won't matter in my 1st game sinceI train stamina now.)
