How to make a backup.
Now my PTW CD is broken and Atari isn't really fast in responding on my replacement request I want to make backup from my c3c CD just to make sure I won't end up without any civ cd .
However just copying the cd isn't working. Does anyone have a suggestion how I can copy my cd including the fucking cd protection system? PP

You can make a copy using CD Clone or something similar. The copy can be used to do an install but won't be recognized as the original cd. Solution is to use a non-deodorant file and you're set.

But is there a non-deodorant file in the c3c flavour as well? I have heard of the PTw and vanilla ones, but not of a c3c one...?

There is one for 1.22. Something with weeweeweepuntspelkopiewereldpuntcom. Dutch should be able to find it. I leave it to the admins wether the full link can be posted here.

PP, you could create an image of the cd with daemon tools. I don't know exactly how it works, but it's a superb tool. The site you can find it on is www.daemon-tools.cc.
P.S. Poor Kemal, still playing with the cd in his computer...

I found a whole lot of info and no-deodorant files on gameburnworld. Here's the link.
http://www.gameburnworld.com/gp/game...3conquests.htm EDIT : Mirror4 seems the best, no broken links.

I can't find a "report this post to a moderator" link. [] Oh wait, ProPain is moderator!
Just kidding though. However, I would advise to remove this link. Perhaps post it in our secret forum? You might get into trouble by this. After all, you have tried to let Firaxis acknowledge this site, haven't you? (When beta testing and finding bugs etc...)

I have created a members area, we discussed this some time ago but other events overshadowed it.

There was a secret forum used to discuss this issue last time it arose. The forum was actually set up to discuss bannings and other Bad Things at CFC that shoudln't have been public.
I am removing everyone from the forum today since it is strictly speaking our moderating forum. It's has about 1 post a month on average.
