Meli and I had a discussion that maybe we should sign some folk up to reserve their handles.
I was tempted to sign in as Thunderfall or Aeson but thats not a great idea. Maybe certain names should be presigned in ....

Good point we can do that!

(They do that themselfs AFAIK, Chieftess has already done it! Otherwise we can simply "moderate" them... ;) )

I am tempted to say that you can only use your cfc nick to sign in, unless you are not registered there, or by special request (for someone who hates their cfc nick). What do people think?

I think it would be grat idea to *ask* people to sign up with their CFC iD: I couldn't, for one, 's are not allowed :(

also, anarres could sign in all CFC mods, or make a 'cannoit be used' list of names of important CFC members. For that list I would suggest all CFC mods, the BIG modders and scenario makers and testers, like TETurkhan, warpstorm, Akka and many others.....

I* would suggest just the mods and active pbem players. We dont want to be seen as competing with CFC.

If someone can list the CFC mods and 'big names' I have found the filter list for new members, and can reserve them.

There is always the issue of what happens when a CFC person tries to register with their name and is told it is restricted. I will have to modify the asp code as well to give a message saying to email ProPain or myself to unrestrict it.

Shaitan, warpstorm, Akka, hygro, gothmog, Eyrei - a few names for the list ;)


We should be carefull NOT to be seen as competing, but rather as an ADDITIONAL thing for CFC - thus, same handle makes sense ;)

Well, as nobody has seen messing around with names things are OK I guess... This is a forum for PBEM-hobbist. If yoiu start fooling around it will be noticed quickly enough. I am sure an admin can delete members!

Jack, it's quite simple :) We first agree upon the rules and the game characteristics and then ask someone to make a map. It's nice if you have MSM or something, to make deals etc...

I've got a couple of ideas:
- I'd like to play emperor level
- We could agree upon not being the agressor vs the AI for a certain period (I found that it is too easy to kill the AI with two humans, ending up with 1 vs 1)
- We could even agree upon special rules, like honorable playing style, meaning that we are not allowed to start an agressive war, etc...

What's your idea?
By the way: I'm not too experienced myself. My 1st PBEM is vs ERIKK and I will be beat [sad]
