I'm currently analysing my game (from time to time, when I come to think about it), and what I can tell you is that you are right but you need to delete the "all" at the beginning of your sentence.

If this is in the right place (which it is most certainly not probably), I would like to sign up for the ladder - how do I do this? Again, I couldn't see a thread for signups...so pardon me if I shouldn't post here...or just beat me up.

As soon as you get a game started ( go to the challenges forum ) you can agree with the opponent(s) whether it is for the ladder or not. If so, you will appear on the ladder once you have submitted a "score".

When you've found an opponent also post a Map Request in the Map Maping forum, I guess you've got that already.
