Default Computer Customization

That's an image of my desktop.

Here's some links to the programs that I use - they are VERY convenient!

Rainlendar (calendar)
Thanks to Paal for earlier posting this in his forum. It's very handy to keep track of stuff on a calendar on your desktop. I've made it so it's transparent and gets brighter upon mouseover.

Object Dock (like Mac OS X's dock)
Like the "Quick Launch" on the toolbar, but a lot easier. Grows bigger on mouseover, add separators - I have it set to autohide when I don't have my mouseover it.

I also use the weather application on my toolbar by The Weather Channel for weather forecasts and alerts and temperature.

Anyone else got some nifty programs ?

GA: is that WeatherCast I see in your taskbar? If so, you have spyware

Also, that is a LOT of stuff in your taskbar - you can probably close Quicktime agent, MSN agent and save some memory.

In MSN open settings, and select do not start MSN when windows starts.

Quicktime autostart is removable in many ways (just not through quicktime itself afaik). You can disable it from autolaunching the agent.

Got to say that your desktop is a bit etnocentric []. Ginger_Ale country is covered in clouds as well

PS: Recycle your waste

Edit: me stoopid. You had the weatherchannel plugin. Sorry. It is so similar to the weathercast spyware from Gain or whatever....

My brother is in the process of turning his pc into a mac-styled one, (he's making a separate account in windows xp to play around with stuff), so I'll let you know how it goes.

He's following the guide here: http://features.engadget.com/entry/8828351836181248/

Is that not totally sick?

This is mine:

54.21KB

I am running an old stuffed win2k machine. Frequent defragmenting helps keeping it up to speed.

Erikk, with all those processes running, do you have any memory free at all? []
