Forgot about it, playing now. I'm short on time, so I'll keep text at a minimum.
1710 a.d. Gregorio de Mattos wants to join us. I'm in doubt, because we don't have that many churches. However, the other option is saving for the dude that gives bells for schools, and we have even less schools than churches. Or the guy that gives statesmen, but we could just as well buy those. I don't understand. Patrick Henry is better and cheaper. Why didn't we get him? Anyway, better Gregorio than nothing. 1713 a.d. John Paul Jones and his one frigate wants to join us, I tell him to shove it. Thomas Pain wants to join, increased production seems OK. At least it'd speed up our political points production. Sink spanish caravel, no loot. 1715 a.d. OK, small complication: we can declare independence. Seems like a good choice, but I'm leaving it up for discussion.

We might consider to wait one more turn and sell the goodies from the galleon. But otherwise, we should simply declare asap. Should be easy!

I'd say that perhaps we want to wait until the merchantman with statesman arrives in the west.

Dunno. We'd have another statesman? And perhaps we would want to buy some more guns. But I'm not sure if it's worth the wait. The king is adding units to the ref every turn.

I'd say: get on with it in any way you see fit.
I couldn't care too much about the independency options (slavery, monarchy etc). Let's get this over with asap !

I'm sure I have time to manage a turnset tomorrow. If no one wants to play, I'll play.

1716 a.d. Decided to wait with the independence until the incoming merchant arrives in Europe. Musket guy wants to join us, fine by me.
Next stop, independence day. I decide to go with slavery, monarchy, manifest destiny, seperation of church and state, controlled arms. 1717 a.d. Galleon arrives in the west. I'm surprised by this, apparently ships aren't seized at the high seas any more these days. 1719 a.d. English invade, take crabsilver through amphibious assault. I'm stopping here, as I'm not the most experienced warmonger.

You managed to lose a colony????
I checked some things. As it appears, you simply did not give our guns to our colonists, making our colonies undefended. And to make things worse, you even shipped 200 guns to the west, so we cannot use them anymore. This game is now a tough test, I guess. Why did you not make soldiers?
