Default KoD5 ***SPOILERS***

So, I finished it, somewhere 250 AD, I think, but could have been faster. To sum it all up:

Whipped settlers like crazy on the second continent to settle all the way to the wheat below the istmus. No problems with happiness with all the luxs and the food surplus made sure I could use plenty of specialists for research. Started building courthouses relatively late so I never really produced anything here. Portugal declared war somewhere around 2000BC (IIRC), which lasted all the way to the end, since I wanted a leader for my FP on this continent, but no luck with my horsemen army upgraded from whipped chariots. JC turned out to be a great defender though on the isthmus .

On the homeland 2nd city The Hague, along the river to south, was my 4 turn settler factory and I managed to settle all the way to the banana's. I built quite a few warriors, but when I got IW (quite late), it turned out no iron . I also spotted the horses quite late, so I had built an archer army to take on Germany, but when I did, I switched total production to horsies. The war was not easy against a lot of German archers but a first leader gave me a horse army (with KR in it ), which helped a lot to finally get to Berlin. When I took Berlin somewhere in 100 AD or so the prebuild for GL was just ready, but it was on the west coast, so it took some more turns to get to the oasis isle.

In retro, I think I might have waited a bit too long with the right approach to take Berlin. I also expected to have to conquer the oasis tile from Portugal or even worse, Scandinavia or England, because now the other island didn't have any real use in the game (only a lot of luxes in the last few turns). After having won the Philo gambit (I even did CoL before, but still chose Monarchy iso Rep and switched soon after) I was always ahead in the tech race. Interesting detail, most of the other civs were warring for big periods of time (Portgual <-> Vikings (I allied with Ragnar), Rome <-> Carthage <-> Spain. This kept them far behind. On GL-fishing: 2nd for Herioc Epic, third GL for FP near the banana's and 4th for another army (but didn't need it anymore.)
