3 player melee *spoiler*
Matrix, skyfish and yours truly have started a 3 player PBEM. The settings are:
Mapsize standard Barbs random Matrix Babs Skyfish Persians Eldakkar Americans Rest random. This map has not been made by a mapmaker! This resulted in the best start I ever had on a random map : 72.12KB Pretty nice huh? this is at turn 20. It has become clear that the persians dwell in the south of *my* continent. Mr Skyfish has declared at least three times that he would clobber me with his immortals so some carefulness is needed. Not too mention some action before he reaches immortals (if possible). |

You certainly need a good starting position when facing the Persians!

A small update on this horrible game:
I do not have Iron, whilst skyfish has lots of gold, iron, warriors, the persians and a very bad temper vs yours truly Anyone know how to stop a horde of immortals without iron? I should have some horses when he attacks. Should I use horses spearcombo's and rely on luck or should i just throw in the towel? Sky is only 12 tiles away from my core cities. random maps.... I have a somewhat better empire but not for long I think I'll post a screenie later |

I prefer taking down immortals with horses and spears rather than swords (or swords and spears). Until you get Feudalism you are best off defending with spears anyway...

The horsies and the immortals did not clash. I would have lost anyway
This game was a lot of fun. I've decided to quit pbem playing due to the fact that I do not have the time anymore to play on a regular basis. I enjoyed the pbems I played a lot. Thanks all, and good luck with all your games. |
