We paid for Civ4.
Anyway, that's mighty sweet. I'll try the first out right now!

Not on my computer. I happen to have installed 1GB RAM just a few days ago. (I had only 512MB.)

Tried both scenarios today. They are slightly slow to load (takes about 2 minutes) but run rather well. I'm not having the fastest PC out there (Athlon 1.3 Ghz + 1Gb RAM + Radeon 9200) but it is handled just fine considering it is a large size map with lots and lots of units.
Cannot say anything about the gameplay since I just played a couple of turns in each one of them. It seems Trip did an excellent job with geography and city names (unlike many other modders) and managed to pull out considerable endeavor overall.
