I've seen quite some football in my life but never ever have I seen refs like these. Where do these people come from? 4th luxemburg saturday amateur league?
Unless of course this is all a plot to finally get technical aids for refs allowed......

Hey, now you are insulting the referees from Luxembourg...
That penalty was a very bad joke, I have seldom seen something like this (OTOH the red card was a hard decision)

Crazy match NL-Portugal; car-crash telly indeed. To England's advantadge as there are now some Portugese players disqualified from the next match I thought the 2nd half of the England game was pretty good to watch too, it bodes very well for us that Rooney looked strong and fit up top by himself - he was still chasing balls into the 91st minute And nice for England to finally have a strong 2nd half performance, I feel just slightly more optomistic than I did before thsi match. The refereeing is just a bad joke - hard to know why it is so fucked-up this time... maybe some are just bad refs who are there on some kind of quota system?? but a lot of them are the same refs who work in the Champions League etc. so, its weird |

Strangely enough, the referees at the European Championship are always doing an adequate job. At the World Championship however there are always troubles.

Is it the refs, the players diving or both? Take this with a grain of salt since I'm American but it seems players are forever falling on the grass writhing in pain after minimal contact. Then the player gets carried off on a stretcher, the stretcher is held by two men, it's so overly dramatic, so over the top it's almost comical.
For me, it's difficult to see a man in agony one moment and up on his feet, suddenly recovered, the next. It seems to me there needs to be a rule that's enforced against this type of action.
