It'll still run on something like GT 8800. I ran it on my 5-year old 9800 and it was very good looking. A friend of mine has 9500 and can also play normally. If you don't have that, you really need to replace your video card. It must be falling apart anyhow.

I never had a real gaming video card (ATI 3450). And my computer is rather old (core 2 quad).

Since I don't play shooters, I've always been able to pull it off. From my understanding, my computer is about the strength of a Xbox360. Therefore, multi platform games that are ported on the Xbox run smoothly. Since Witcher 2 was PC only they did not tune down things to make it run on older systems.

I think my best buy would be a HD7750 (just under 100$) since I would not have to worry about upgrading the power supply. Of course, I could go for a new system, but I don't play games that much.

My other choice is to simply not play that game since I have plenty other games or other stuff to do.

It might be you can still run it, albeit slide show style unless windowed mode is on.

The game is one of the best RPGs ever made, so you'd be missing a lot by not playing it. Just turn the QTE to easy and you'd be OK.

If you're not heavily into gaming, you should save the money for a seperate videocard and wait gor an Intel i5 with integrated HD4600 graphics. Good enough if you're not playing shooters or racing games. And it sounds like your processor could need an upgrade anyway.

But then again, if you're not into gaming or video encoding, an i5 is probably overkill.

But hey, you should be able to play Europa Universalis 3 on your system!

It's that time of the year again... and somehow I doubt I'll buy anything this time. I have all the relevant DLC for CK2 and EU4, and the only games I don't currently own that I'm excited about are Fallout 4 and the new Battlefront.

So, yeah... any suggestions?

I don't think it appeals to any of you, but I had more fun with Dying Light than I thought I would. -75% seems like a good price point for it, but I doubt it'll drop that low. Be aware of the minimum specs though, it's quite demanding.

OK, I bought Brave New World (I don't know why...) and Defense Grid 2 (for old time's sake).

It's great, and it's cheap. The downside is that it's mostly a sandbox, unlike Simcity where you'd get the occasional setback. This is purely min/maxing.

As a builder it's the best version of Simcity so far, by far.
