A very heavy (to heavy according to quite some people) that is assumed to look if patterns on the cd match with a pattern it expects (among other things). Might not be the cause at all, just something to check.

It looks this file comes from the CD and is used in the installation proces. Couple of things to try:
- Copy the file to the exact same location as in the error message. Here is it as I found it:

- Try to do a straight copy of the cd to your HD and do the install from there.

I got another CrC error when i tried to copy the things across, didnt so much understand what you wanted me to do with the setup file but i tried looking for where the message was coming from but i couldnt find anything, guess im going to have to get a new conquests game now!

Did you try to copy in sections? It looks like a damaged cd. If you're lucky it is a small part. Can be tested by copying dir by dir. Another option is to see if you can copy it on another PC, sometimes this prob is due to the cd/dvd device.

whats 'dir'?? im not very computer literate ill try it on the PC downstairs later on but i was able to play it before i uninstalled it all so i hope its just a small part.

Thnx Soc. In Windoze it is also called Folder for computer illiterates. Any progress BC?

I havnt had any time today, been revising and my gf came round, ill try again tomorrow but im wiped now.
