Bear in mind you don't need marines in civ4. You can attack coastal cities with any unit and with galleys, cats and any unit you can pull it off. You get a 50% discount on attack but with cats I did it very successfully against Barbu in our PBEM.

Hmm... well, something to think about. I'll have to do some more scouting, see if he's any threat at all. In other news, I made a peace treaty with Robi D until the end of the game. He seems very happy with it. Akots has a treaty with him as well.

I don't know, he says he doesn't. He wants me to go for a cultural victory, for which he has 3 artists. I doubt I can pull that off, I'd need something like 3 times 45000 culture.

How many religions do you have? It might be feasible in 100 turns if you could pull in 10 artists in that time.
