CDZ Cup 4th Edition sign-up and discussion thread

Welcome at the fourth edition of the CDZ Cup. We are now open for registration for the Cup which will start on 14 December (Tuesday) and is to last for a maximum of 7 weeks. Again, I will try to schedule the cup so that the last game(s) can be played in the first of the off-season weeks when most people can field their top players.

I am listing the people that are invited, please confirm your participation here or by HT-mail to Yndy_ (Chimica Târnãveni). Anyone from CDZ or CFC is invited, just list your name and team in this thread and you are in.

Since it appears that the number of participants is about to increase I am going to list here the rules of the competition as well

:
* You need to have an active team in Hattrick

;
* You need to register by listing your name and team in this thread by 3 December 2004; there is no limit on the number of participants

;
* The games will be played as international friendlies and booked accordingly in Hattrick

;
* Challenges can be issued by any of the two teams scheduled to play a game as soon as allowed

;
* Challenges should be accepted by Sunday evening

;
* If a game is not set up by Sunday evening, the participants will be contacted on Monday and are expected to provide details of the situation

;
* The deadline for setting up a match is Monday 23:59 GMT. After the deadline, the team in default will lose the game 5 – 0 and the other team is allowed to set up any other friendly

;
* The first stage will be a league stage and games will be played as ‘normal’ friendlies

;
* The following stages will be knock-out stages and will be played as friendlies ‘with Cup rules’

;
* The purpose of the Cup is to give every team 7 friendly games, there are no eliminations from the cup and everybody plays until the end

;
* The first two (or three) teams in each group will qualify for several knock-out stages and one of them will be the Cup winner

;
* Teams that have not finished in the top 2 (3) in the league stage will still qualify to the knock-out stages which will determine their final ranking in the Cup

;
* The makeup of each group will be drawn between 3 and 7 December 2004 when the format of the Cup will be finalized

;
* It is possible to have limitations in the structure of the groups and rebalancing of home/away games with the purpose to have international groups and a relatively balanced number of home/away games

;
* There will be no rebalancing of the home/away games in the knock-out stages

;
* The calendar for the games will be made available by 7 December

FC De Snaken reporting in to confirm their participation.

Will be tough I think to do better than I did in the 3rd edition of the cup, with all teams getting stronger, and the increase in participants.. but since I'm finally no longer haunted by the curse of the stamina gambit (i.e. wretched form), De Snaken will go for no less than an improvement of our last edition's ranking.

We would love to reach 3rd place again, but the competition is hard so I dont know if it's feasable.
