Some 1450BC pictures:
The French Empire 154.84*KB The Babylonian Empire (and a tiny bit of the German) 96.47*KB The MiniMap 5.27*KB The F11 screen 95.73*KB The Score 9.55*KB Decided not to buy techs from Anarres. Some civ traded contact with me to the Romans and tech prices dropped a bit again. I bought HR for 5 gpt and 17 gold from the Zulus. I know they are Anarres' neighbours and that he's boxed in. I hop he will attack em and maybe destroy them before the 20 turns are over... I'm doing quite ok on the f11 screen. I dropped to 2nd place in MFG but that's because Orleans finished a settler a turn ago. I have been first for ages. Amazes me with all those deity AI's. I'm in doubt what course to follow myself. I can do two things: 1) attack the babs 2) build settlers and start settling the nbearby islands after the discovery of mapmaking Dunno yet.

Looks like you can attack the Babs quite easy as there will be only a small front to cover! And the Germans might be of help in an alliance (2 front war)... :satan:

Some AI's got MM. Traded around for my map, but they traded between themselves too (or Anarres beat me to it, being the 1st player). So I got some territory maps and contact with the Persians for my WM. Turns out me, babs, germans, romans, zulus and egyptians (anarres) are all one big continent! Dunno if the Persians are there too (behind anarres maybe) cause they dont have MM. My guess is they aren't because anarres mentioned he wanted to attack the zulus because he needed they're land and the zulus are way more powerfull than the persians. I think I have to attack the babs pretty soon to keep my land size benefit and prevent anarres to grab more of our continent then me. This will be a tough one. I'll post a screenie soon when I have the ROmans map too.

Took another look and the Persians are about as powerfull (or rather weak) as the zulus. Also the zulus have a piece of land that's very easy to take. Only a few cities and all on a very narrow stretch of land. Considering the AI incapabilty of a decent attack/defence, Anarres is going to take this piece of land easily. Take a city and it comprises the whole front so it's easily defendable. grrr.
Babs are the most powerfull civ in the game (just my luck) and they're running out of land alrdy (settlers moving thru my territory). Whether I want it or not I can expect a war soon I think because I'll settle before the babs and then we;re out of land....

I dont know how you feel about the 'moving wall' but by opening and closing a 'window' you can move the settlers back and forth. You can collect a dozen settlers on a good day then grab them all when you're ready.
It IS a bit of an exploit though....

I;m leaving a gap south of rheims to fool the comp in thinking there;s some more land to settle. This usually prevents him from declaring war. If this nets me some more settlers than that's nice fringe benefit if not, no worries either.
I plan to switch Paris to horsemen after this settler finishes. Same for Lyons and Rheims after the temples are done. All other cities are alrdy on barracks/military and that will stay that way. Time to get the babs! I'll buy IW from the zulus (as I did with more techs), hoping that that Anarres finishes them before those 20 turns are over. That will save me some money, maybe if the Zulus manage to become a monarchy b4 the war it will even help them to buy troops and put up some stiff resistence (but I think that's idle hope)

bought Mapmaking from anarres for 80 gold total. About 30% of ai price so that's not to bad. I plan to build a galley and a harbor in paris after the next horsemen. the land south of france might reveal the iroquois who are tsill missing and a harbor might net me some cash for lux. Worth the 80 gold gamble .
