I've heard quite some good stories about it but never played it. Just noticed you can buy GCII + exp packs for $40,- which isn't that much for a game imo.

Anybody played the game who can tell me more about it?

Don't know the game, so I can't tell you more, unfortunately.

But I googled it a bit and it seems pretty interesting. Almost like a hybrid between Civilization and Master of Orion....

Never played MOO as well. Seems it has quite some fans as well. Maybe I should see if I can find that somewhere as well.

I got the cd mailed from the US to me by the makers for free. I'll try to bring in to Groningen this weekend (If I can find it).

Apparently CFC has a whole subforum about the game:

http://forums.civfanatics.com/forumdisplay.php?f=192

Maybe you can find some good information there?

You can get galciv2 vanilla for 11 euro at bol.com. The major downside that the game has is that there is no multiplayer. But the AI is pretty good. There's a galciv thread in rik's forum btw. Rereading that thread I found this. How anyone can resist the urge to play the game after that story is beyond me.

You didn't even bother to finish your evaluation at CFC :P. So although you thought it would range in the 8-10 out of 10 bracket it didn't managed to hold your attention.

Still looking forward to get go at it next saturday. If I have time that is cause it's the optimal opportunity to get some more turns of our PBEM done.
