I figured that we'd become world champions after a ironic schwalbe against Ze Germans, but I guess a schwalbe would work against Spain just as well.

Finally this is over. 4 years ago I was so much into Civ and football. How have I changed since then ! I think I watched 2 games this year...

As for France, I'm glad it was over so soon. Big changes needed, everybody hates the team at the moment. But now we have Blanc.

Hope you Dutchies will get it someday. Will you go back to Football Total ?

Unfortunately Spain was just better than the Dutch.

In the end they deserved the win.

Best man on the field: Maarten Stekelenburg
Worst man on the field: Howard Webb

But although Webb was really bad as a referee (this was really the best FIFA had to offer for its' showcase match?), it would be unrealistic to blame the loss on him. Spain just outplayed us on the midfield.

Both teams could have won and although I must admit Spain played more beautifull football during the tournament it was good luck that gave them the cup.

The referee was the worst I've ever seen in any match about something. This piece of shit acted like being the main judge in a piece of crap like Ranking the Stars.

I really don't think any Netherlands fan can complain about the ref at all. The fact that he managed to keep 11 of their players on the pitch till extra time was weird at best. The issue on the edge of the Spanish box was an either way decision but didn't have any bearing on the goal regardless due to it being the other end of the pitch and the Dutch getting more than enough players back (spain only had 3 up!).

As there could have been numerous red cards if Webb had sent them all of everyone would have been complaining he was too harsh, he was in a no win situation. Netherlands could have easily been down to 8-9 men before half time.

I was very disapointed with the Netherlands in the end, i appreciate that total football is no more but they seemed set out to destroy Spains game rather than play their own game which had got them to the final. More horrific challenges from all corners of the field and yet again Van Bommel somehow remained on the pitch. The better side won in what was a very poor match in truth.
