some new pics. The game is rolling again after I discovered I had the last save

The romans have some nice lands to expand to.

Thought about attacking one of those worker, but the WC in paris would kill my warrior after that for sure. went to the mountain first to spy around a bit. If Mel stacks those workers however I'm gonna move in, capture and disband them.

500 years have passed since my last post and some remarkable things happened.

Lotsa barbs running around which delayed my expansion. I've been settler dancing quite a lot. Looks like restless barbs, so I switched to escorted settlers instead of the lonely ones. All things worked out eventually since I grew from 5 to 9 cities in the last 3 turns. Got my 10th one from France (more later) and plan on founding no. 11 in 2 turns. I'll have twice the amount of cities of Mel then.

Greece dragged the French in our war. Because I was building only settlers and no military Alex was a little cocky and refused peace. After I took out 2 archers, a warrior, build a few spears to accompany my settlers and doubled in cities his attitude changed. He's turned into a peace lover now. Instead of demanding a city for peace he's now willing to pay for peace. Not yet Alex, more military is coming and a lousy 20 gold isn't going to repair that high 'n mighty attitude I had to put up with.

In the meanwhile France decided things got a little dicy for them. They lost a vet warrior on a reg one I fortified on a mountain and it seems Mel has declared war on them again. I'm not sure of this (no embassy) but I see 2 WC next to Paris. Joan offers me her last city and WM for peace. I'll take that! I'm now the proud owner of Rheims. Virtually useless for me, to far away over land to defend quickly but not to far away from my cap because only a sea strait is seperating me and Mel. My guess is Mel was counting on Rheims for his expansion because he still only has 5 cities. Dunno what I'll do with Rheims. Disband or give to mighty civ nearby... More to come.
