What difficulty level are you at?
Just out of curiosity what difficulty you can win a reasonable amount of time, say more than 50% at vanilla settings, i.e. creating the map through the Play Now! option?

I started at Emperor a few weeks ago after most Monarch games went pretty well. Emperor wins are limited to Spacerace atm but I plan to change that soon!

I usually win at Prince. At Monarch I'm about as good as the average AI though...

Noble to Prince, since I have played 5 games, and haven't played since December or so 2005. And I can beat noble, and presumably I can beat Prince...

Voted Emperor but it greatly depends on speed. At normal speed, Immortal level is very tough but on epic quite possible to beat by military means on a pangea map with a reasonable start.

im pretty easily beating the AI on Prince and so playing monarch where im also winning, though i rarely finish a game as i tend to give up when im in a winning position.
