Default Spaceship parts and espionage

Perhaps some of the more experienced civ4 players can help with this?

After a long break from Civ4 I started another BTS game recently, and I'm now in the end-phase of the game, in the process of completing the spaceship.

There's two continents. I own a large part of my own continent, and have a small foothold on the other consisting of a few american cities, including former capital washington. There's no centre of government there though.

So how come that when on the turn I finish my SS-cockpit in one of my cities [u]right next to Babylon</u>, on my own continent, I get the message "an SS-cockpit has been destroyed [u]in Washington</u> by enemy infiltrators"? That's on an entirely different continent and has nothing to do with spaceship production whatsoever!

I did get the "Kemal has completed SS-cockpit", "Mira has added SS-cockpit to the space ship" messages and the add button for the cockpit on the space screen, but I still have to build a new one.

Totally lame and boring, since I had timed the parts to perfection and now it takes 7 more turns to complete the game. I would have accepted it if they have managed to sabotage in my own cities but like this...?

Some pics might illustratie things, note that the Americans just got destroyed by Zara Yakob, and part concerned was the stasis chamber, not the cockpit:

Destroyed by infiltrators in Washington:

183.66*KB

Completed in Mari:

161.96*KB

Add to SS-screen:

112.45*KB

Yet still buildable:

156.16*KB

Washington lightyears away from the action:

169.05*KB

Unfortunately, the save is too big to upload here... I tried to upload this stuff at CFC but the easy upload system is offline there. I did open a topic at CFC about it as well (http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=267825), since if this is not a bug, it might be useful to prevent (AI) launches in the future using espionage. Sorry for the big pics, but shrinking them took away a lot of quality, using paint sucks.

Playing on a 1.4 Ghz 512 MB Ram PC, you really don't want to grab any domination or military type vics believe me, so I always go for the space ship... and it's also the reason why I'm upset about it, as 7 turns translates to about 2 hours of extra game time.. of which I have preciously little, I'm afraid.

Yeah know what you mean, my comp starts locking up and normally shutting civ down if i hit 1600 onwards.

I find domination or military vics help that as your knocking out the other civs so less for your comp to do (move their units etc)

Agreed, thankfully 3 of the civs are out already. Thanks to Zara Yakob and his huge empire though, the others are simply too advanced/too big to take out by force easily.

Half a gig is not enough by far. I strongly recommend buying an extra another GB of RAM. I've done exactly the same (from 0.5 to 1.5 GB) and the improvement was huge; and it's only like €10...

Some boards can only handle so much though, mine can only handle 1GB for instance.
