Broomfield Police received the call of a hit-and-run around 8:30 Tuesday morning and responded to Greenway Drive near 120th Avenue. When they arrived, they found an abandoned car that had hit a neighborhood power source.

Shortly thereafter a 6-year-old came out of the nearby home with his grandmother and police were able to piece together what had happened.

Police say the child decided he wanted to get lunch at Applebee's, and went out the car and moved his child seat from the back of the car to the driver's seat. He then grabbed the keys to the car and started backing up, roughly 47 feet.

He eventually hit a curb before reversing an additional 29 feet, according to police. His mini joyride ended, however, when he hit a power source, causing both the phones and power to go out in the area.

It was eventually discovered that it was not actually a 6 year old, but a 30 something bald man with the alias Tubby Rower.
