Huh, i saw halleys comet, back in the 80's i think it was, for 1 or 2 months we were able to get up early in the monring and see it from Southern Australia, the tail changed over time from a long streak, to a shorter tail (when it was moving away from the sun i think)

you must be a young buck to have missed it..or it was only visible in the southern hemisphere
