Here's an overview of my starting lands (cap south of pig, horses, stones, gems and sugar within its 20).

108.5KB

Lot's of gems, which is cool .

My idea was to set up an economy fast. The 2nd city was founded in the west, with absolute crap first 8, but great 20.

Of course, I neglected diplo . In the south, I made peace with Sitting bull (soon to be switched to AI) and further south I met Saladin (AI form thestart??).
In the north, DanDridge of Persia was fighting his eastern neighbour, Classical Hero). I didn't bother....

So far, I only have one picture. This one was made by Akots on 19 octover 2007, when he played a few turns for me:

He added this comment:

I think you are dead there unless you have made a long term peace deal with Persia. I switched Stapelborg to chariot ready in 2 and will try to chop some more forests but copper is not connected so there are no spearmen. He already has 3 Immortals moving in and will probably get 5-6 more very soon.

I did have three workers who chopped everyting into chariots. I managed to pull off the first Persian attack. But soon a 2nd wave appeared with spears and axes. Between the waves, Ihad to build a settler to found the city of Brons. My workers were sent ahead to road and to hook up the bronze asap. It was just enough. The most glorious oment was when an Persian axeman with leader, was moved withing the ranger of a patientedly waiting chariot .

Overview of capital and Brons (just taken now):

Right now, I have a solid peace deal with the Persians until 1500 AD (it's now 620AD).

Sitting Bull has been reduced to a one city nation. I wasted a few units to take his last city.... In a few turns, I will finally succeed. There are 6 axes, 2 cats and 4 chariots near. Sitting bull's bronze is cut off, so he cannot build spears. He has 3 archers on his hilled city.

Well, Truro has fallen. At the cost of only two cats and one relatively unexperienced axeman. I can’t complain .

What surprised me is that the American Native civilization is still there... Possibly a feature in multiplayer (i.e that the civ will only disappear at the start of a turn). I'm not really familiar with the rules on units. There might still be a dog soldier scouting up north. Before I started the war, iirc, two DSs had crossed my lands. One was southeast of Brons and Judithville (where a human oppnent has settled), and was soon kille dby a waiting chariot. The other was travelling to the northwest, into Persian lands.

I suppose it is still there. Is that enough for a civ not to be killed? Will this lone Dog Soldier thus cause unhappiness (we yearn to join our mother-civ…)?

Anyway, if Sitting Bull is still there next turn, I’ll make peace. He won’t bother me no longer .

Funny detail: The city had 4 archers, 1 DS, 1 settler and a galley (had been there for dozens of turns…). Now, why is the AI not smart enough to get the settler (and one unit) out before I attack?

Truro will now be used for a launch on Saladin, south of it. Saladin is also AI… I should consider myself lucky. There are many woods, so I will chop a library, a rax and then units, units and units..

Saladin, my new southern neigbout had showed a settler and horse a few turns back. They suddenly disappeared again. We have open borders so he could simply walk thrpugh, to settle in the empty space. Instead her returend south, got his settler in a hip and landed it there.

AI stupidity...
