Yeah this is a test game, civ selection in this doesn't matter.

I hadn't heard that advanced start is bugged, even with 3.02?

I just installed BtS and tried to connect and got the following: The version of our critical game files do not match our hosts. Cannot join game!

Am I missing something?

Probably missing the 3.02 patch, check www.firaxis.com to download it.

advanced start seems to work ok on the one scenario i tried, maybe its different cos of a scenario

anyways logged in fine and hit enter.
