Yes, I agree, Iron would be pretty important for both civs. Sounds interesting, I actually considered Rome, as I really like the versatility of Legions, but I wanted to try someone I haven't played before. This should be very interesting.

Slightly OT question, how do I open a forum for spoiler threads? Do I need to PM a Mod, or is there something specific I must sign up for?

Talk to Anarres or Propain. Or make a thread in Site Feedback. I assume the first is better than the latter, because it would be faster...sort of.

OK, ... scratching the head... I'll make a map making request. Please check it out, if everything is OK.

OK, the game has been started. It is not that bad, even there is a luxury nearby.

Here is my start:

We've hit 1000BC, but all is quiet (so far). Spoiler thread updated. This should turn into a very interesting game.

All, is quiet, nothing happens even to write in the spoiler. Just growing and expanding little by little. Not exciting so far. But I'm rather picky and only tremendous amount of bloodshed can really excite the Roman ruler.

The most exciting thing so far was a discovery of Iron Working and Roman generals were very surprized to find out that the new unit they can build now is Poet. It is not that Poet carries scroll with verses instead of sword and shield, no. It is exactly the same legion by the looks of it. It is just called Poet instead of legion. I hope these Poets are better fighters than the original legions though.

Poets for your UU? That's great! Does that mean I'll need to learn Latin to defend myself???

No need for Latin, I hope learning Dutch will suffice.

Well, it looks like I may have to learn a bit of Dutch myself! My UU is called the Watergeus, which appears to be Dutch for.... something? I did a Google search for it, and came up with several ships named that, but no explanation of what the word means, so I will have to keep searching! (And no, I can't build them yet, if that doesn't give away too much about my status).

From the score, it appears you have significantly weakened one of your neighbors, while the other grows strong. I have just begun to do the same (hopefully) to one of my neigbors. It will be interesting to see how it all turns out.
