You lost a musket ?!?!

Looking awesome so far! Keep it up!

I agree with your tech proposal. I would have researched the techs the AI already has, but if we can capture the Great Libary then your idea is the best.

the save

Sumeria

The yellow arrow indicates the 2 armies that have conquered Byzies town. I suggest they move west and heal on the mountain.
The orange arrow indicates a stack that is ready to move towards Elephantine.
Marad holds 2 settlers, I didnt use them because I want them to secure horses but I havent seen horses yet.

Spain

84.9*KB
Orange arrow is our amry, I suggest we continue N and use the pillage, move, pillage, move routine as apparently pillaging doesn't use up movement any more.

remarks
- because we lost jus a few units our support costs are crazy. Luckily we can steal from Theodora once in a while or we would be in serious trouble.
- Set research at a slight deficit, we can afford it with the cash Theodora 'gave'us. I suggest that we stick to the scheme were we turn of research as we're 1 turn away from finishing untill an AI finishes the tech, then finish it ourselves.
- razing/capturing Elephantine should be possible, the view from the mountain N of Elephantine might tell us more about the egyptian territory
- We're gathering quite an army and I think we're reaching a point where we can mount a serious attack on an AI with a few MI stacks. Question is what civ we'll take on first. Egypt seems a likely candidate as they are very powerfull but that also makes attacking them more difficult. The southern AI's (Celts and iros) appear more weak, that is the Celts, Iro's are strong. Tough call, I'm not really sure yet. I;m having the impression the S part is more defendable (closer to a shore) but that's a wild guess really.

Have fun Col. T.!!

Looking at the save,I see that almost all units have movement left.Thanks.
How on earth did you manage to loose 3 of our finest units? One could be bad luck, two could be unfortunate but three smacks of forgetfulness.Do better next time.
The only civs that have native horses are France (2),Iriquois (1) and Byzantium (2).Where are the bloody things I ask?
I think egypt were or are buying from someone.
I'll fortify the 2 armies in Byz where they are,I don't expect a LB to attack an 11 hit point army (famous last words) and moving onto the mountain will take 1 turn, fortifying another and leaving i more.
At first glance the situation is quite complicated but I'll soon get into the swing of things.
I'll send the healed armies south hoping to find horses and looting as I go.What I'm
gonna do with the slaves,I don't know.
I'll take Elephantine, making 22 cities and rush a couple of galleys to ferry the settlers over the water.I can always colonise the horses for 1 turn and set all cities to horse production. That's if there are any horses in the south of Byzantine lands.
The capture of Constantinople,I'll try to put a stack together to hold it.
I'll also upgrade some if not all of our remaining Pikes.
How much of this I complete is of course conjectural.
One thing that springs to mind is that we could have built barracades to curb those bloody conquistadors but it probably isn't that important anymore.
I think your plan is a sound one,PP,and I'll try to follow it.I'll concentrate on Egypt and Byzantium.
Any thoughts, disagreements will be helpful before I play, later. Not that I'll take any notice.
Constantinople has:-The colossus.the great library,Sistine chapel and is building Cops.Well worth the effort of capturing. When to take it is the Question.

Just one remark, I'd wait with capturing constant untill :
- it's the last byzie city left (no more flip chance)
- it's finished copernicus.

Not the best of turns.I lost some units and even managed to loose an army, overdoing an attack on a Byz city I was reduced to redline 6/18 and was hunted down by 4 vengeful longbows.Trapped on a peninsular there was no escape,I ran,Oh how I ran but the bastards cut me down.
As luck would have it I'd just got another MGL.I formed another army toute de suite.
There's 1 army pillaging Constantinople and two more on their way.
Theodora is close to cavalry we must take her capital 1st.
1 army is running interferance around Elephantine, another putting itself about in the south and the pike army is chewing through France.
We have 24 cities and 6 armies but the proximity of Cavalry does not bode well.
I still haven't had a smell of any horses but Theos salt is under her southern city.
Check the units,Banzai,I left some to move.
Good luck and have fun,you can play before my write up if you like but I will post it tomorrow, honestly.
