I'm suspicious about what you Americans call "cheese". Lastly I got to eat some pasta with... powder cheese (packed together), left by some American dude at our home a few months ago. How is this stuff even thinkable ??

Indeed. I wanted to respond to "Emmenthaler", but since it is very much off topic I decided not to. Hm, could use my AWESOME THREAD SPLITTING POWER for the first time, tempting...
Anyway, I've been to New Zealand this summer, and the stuff they sell as cheese there has very little to do with cheese. They make a "dutch" kind of cheese (they call it Edam, or Gouda), but it is too young/fresh for dutch cheese. Emmenthaler is the same kind of cheese that needs more time to "ripen", the taste is yet to be developed. I like dutch cheese when it's older. I also like blue cheese like gorgonzola and roquefort. But my New Zealand experience made me suspicious of anglican taste of cheese. But then again, I'm a commie bastard.
