How fun is this?
Latest training report (7-29-2011) Indrek Saare-His winger proficiency improved from wretched to poor. Admir Hadžič-His winger proficiency improved from inadequate to passable. Rastislav Nevolník-Training hard and no fooling around with his team-mates helped improve his winger skill from passable to solid. Pini Kapeta-Increased his winger skill from solid to excellent. A little of everything this week.. that is 2 wingers a wingback and strangely enough my second PM that have gotten wing skill pops :P Kapeta was purchased for $1000 and now TC's out at ~$250K (USD)

My old GK keeps popping in wing and decreasing a week later. Quite amusing.

Thoughts and current plans:
I jumped into a training (crossing) without putting much thought into my long term plans. I thought, 'hey it is quick so it should be profitable'. This may work but I have already changed my mind and am planning on going a new direction. I have decided to switch from crossing to keeper training. Someone here mentioned that I should do this but I was being thick headed at the time. I have researched how much a decent keeper costs and decided that it would be better early on to train this spot myself. I can train one for keeps and one for transfer to make money for buying my next set of trainees. I also started a YA right off without thinking too much about how I was going to pay for it. I started by hiring 3 scouts and have been lucky with my kids so far but they will not reach the senior club for almost a season and a half. I think I might have to kill off 2 of the scouts just to be able to afford keeping the YA alive. I do have a couple of 15 yr old youths that are shaping up to be studs (solid PM) that will shape my training for the first couple of seasons. My plan is to train GK until these guys are ready to promote and then likely switch over to PM training and then possibly wing training to get myself some homegrown multi skill super studs. I have joined a couple of federations but one of them sticks out in my mind as being exceptional. I joined the The General Managers Club (85054) and have received good info and help from them. Even though they are mostly from England I seem to get along with them quite well. Good bunch of people that are very willing, and able, to give advice on almost anything. I have set up shop there again to make some logo's for teams and have created a new logo for myself which I am quite proud of. They also have a very good kit maker and I am on the list to have him do one for my new logo..

The plan sounds reasonable. And the logo is very nice.

I think you can get along well with just one scout for the academy (I have only 2 anyway) so that shouldn't hurt you much. Training keeper is well suited for new teams, I agree.

Okay an update for my Youth Kids. I basically have 2 guys I am training:
Super Stud: Nicholas Rider -15 years and 76 days [Head] Defending: unknown Playmaking: weak (max solid) Winger: passable (max solid) Passing: inadequate (max inadequate) <-not maxed yet Scoring: unknown (max weak) Set pieces: unknown Semi-Stud: Vernon Schmidt - 15 years and 43 days [Technical] Defending: unknown (max weak) Playmaking: weak (max solid) Winger: poor (max unknown) Passing: unknown (max wretched) Scoring: unknown Set pieces: unknown I have been training Playmaking/Short Passing but that is going to have to come to an end soon as they will both be maxed in passing. I am thinking that I will end up having to train PM/PM at that point and Crossing/Wing attacks on the friendlies.

Maybe, instead of doing PM/ShortP, you might do PM/Individual as it might traing passing to the max anyway.
I am unsure whether PM/individual is more effective if PM was chosen than PM/PM. But as I don't know, you are probably on the safe side if doing PM/PM after PM/ShortP has put Rider to the max in passing.

actually someone from the GMC fed had a good suggestion. Do PM/PM now and wait to do the PM/Passing later when I have other players that will benefit from it.
From what I have read individual training is very tough to track and has questionable effectiveness.

I agree. Focus on PM first. It's the safest way.
