Another crappy start

This is 4AI, demigod, pangea, small. Straight ahead, and we seem to be playing much faster than my other 2 games. up to turn 14 and counting tonight

I beelined for pottery and got it at turn 13, building 1 warrior and then a barracks prebuild for the granery. After the granery, i'll likely spit out 1 or 2 workers before going for the settlers.

Gozpel is also PBEM'ing? Guess he's fed up with SGs and GOTM. Is the map balanced? Did you check it? Are you playing by some rules or it is a brutal throat-cutting match?

yes, i brought him over to the dark side

he has not given up on SG'ing, but you'll have to ask him about gotm yourself as i haven't seen him submit in a while. actually, i'm suprised you didn't sign-up for goz8, it's quite a brutal varient.

rules are generally aggies (exceptions: player may only have 1 MA, no MPP's, no ship chaining, palace jumping, RoP rapes, etc), map made by Kingreno (very even and excellent start for both, should have mentioned that), Ivory was removed so no SoZ, and no SGL's.

turn 42

ever expanding, this one looks like i have a heafty neighbor (india) and a relatively weak one (dutch). gozpel must get the maya and english. if i can get to india before the MA, then it should work out better for me.

techwise, i just got writing and am 10t from philosophy. i'm up writing on india but not the dutch, however, they do not have map making yet so i should have a shot, unless gozpel beats me to it (not unimaginable).

pump is nicely setup and horses are very close. currently doing 1 chariot and 2 settlers every 8T, with Mandarin Beef adding settlers as well. i had 1 riot which delayed my granery by 1T and allowed gozpel to zoom ahead in score (up by 20 at one point) but i seem to have recovered (he's now up by 1 point, 188 vs 187). however, i have no doubt that he will easily out expand me as he has quite a unique technique of expanding his empires. i expect to see a large jump from him soon, but we'll see. my more immediate concern is the indians and cutting off the top part of my land from their settlers.
