I've set up a test game so you guys can make sure you can connect through hamachi before we start. The game is on civstats http://www.civstats.com/viewgame.php?gameid=847
Once you've got hamachi running, do the following: -Join the group "CDZ Game" -password is "cdz" or "CDZ" can't remember -once you've joined the group you have to right click "CDZ Game" and then go on or offline as needed. Then when you go to direct IP in game use 5.9.180.194 and there is no password. Doesn't matter what civ you pick as this game won't be staying up. Just making sure you guys can figure this out before we start. |

Yeah, it's the same setup that you connected to the other night Simon. Random events don't bother me too much either, but I'll let the vocal minority rule on this one.
EDIT: I also copied and pasted post 33 to the OP. |

I may have interest in this but I know nothing about pitboss.. can you explain how it works and what kind of time and frequency will be needed to spend on the game?

5-10 minutes a day. equivalent to playing a pbem just without having to spend time with the e-mailing etc.
just log in via direct ip and choose your civ- in the real game you'll choose a password. thats about it, cept here mauer is using a program to help you log in and avoid his firewall called hamachi.

The pitboss will basically run on my computer, which you will have to connect to through hamachi. About every 24 hours there is a new turn. So basically you'll need 10 minutes a day (or more depending on how thorough you are) for the next several months to play. Skipped turns happen from time to time and are understandable though.
Also, what are you guys thinking about DM's? I hate to be hardlined against them cause there are times when you really do have to play when you have to play. Even this CDZ bunch has had some issues with DM's, but for the most part you all are pretty fair in that regards. So what do you all think? On a side note, please no whiners and babies in this game. You all pretty much know everyone here on the forum, so don't accuse anyone of being a "liar, cheater, bitch, bastard, fooker", or any other ridiculous name. |

so you all plan on having access every day for the next 3 months?
Don't you all go on vacation or anything? and what happens if you miss a turn? will the computer play it for you?

Probably more along the lines of 8-12 months. You can find subs if you've got online friends, and you can set the game to carry out things for you, like worker actions, build queues, research paths.
