Default I've made the switch

I'm tired of you, Microsoft.

I used to get email with outlook (not express). It worked for a while. But recently, I've been getting copies of messages. An email someone sent me I received 7 times! If I used the web mail, it would be fine - this was outlook's problem. Every couple of days I would get it 'again'. Multiply this times a good number of my emails and somedays I would logon to 30 new messages. Jesus, I never even got this much with spam (of which I get none). So I switched. To Thunderbird.

First day: no duplicates

I've got it all set up, it's nice and pretty, it can read RSS, it's much quicker to open. I hope I don't need to turn back.

I now use a lot of different stuff:
Web - Firefox (Opera backup)
Email - Thunderbird (Webmail backup)
Images - GIMP (recently got this - very nice)
Music - iTunes
Spybot S&D + AdAware
and an assortment of other nice programs

And it's great. (and I know Paalikles will congratulate me for non MS stuff)

Ranting over.

I like Mozilla better than Firefox, and I know Thunderbird is waaay better than Outlook. I keep my outlook for calendar only

iTunes is what I would use as well, in fact I use it, to fill my ipod

Rest of the list is good dood.

But I recently did one hell of a Micro$oft upgrade (windowsupdate thingie), so now they control me even more

Haha - windows update is turned off, or it's on manual I think. I'm still on SP0 (no SPs, I think)...

You need SP1 to run Civ4.

I also need Amazon to deliver it. [grr]

When I get the game, I'll try w/o SP1, but if that doesn't work, I'll update (cautious about that). Has anyone tried it w/o SP1, or is this just some recomendation?
