Default Romeo's Trivia #2

In an attempt to make this less U.S. Centric, and to prevent my little brother from running away with the title, I am really mixing up the questions this time.

MUSIC
#1. Country and Western is an American music form and so is rap. Name the first rap group to have a breakout hit and the hit for 2 total points.

#2. Jazz is also labeled an American music form. There are 2 major cities associated with styles of Jazz. One is New Orleans, name the other city, also famous for Barbecue for 1 point.

FILM
#3. The number of Academy Awards that a film wins are often how films are ranked "all-time." 3 films have won 11 oscars. Name 2 of the films to get 1 point or all 3 to get 2 points.

#4. What is the name associated with the Indian subcontinents movie factory?

LIT
#5. I like Charles Dickens works. I am reading one of them now. For 0.5 points per book, name 4 Dickens Novels. A Christmas Carol doesn't count.

#6. Science Fiction is a great genre of books. What is the top award for Science Fiction writers?

#7. I have only, to my knowledge, started and not finished three books. I even read all of "The Origin of Species" For 1 point each, name the author of the books I couldn't or wouldn't finish.
The Communist Manifesto (2 authors)
Crime and Punishment
War and Peace

SPORTS
#8. American football is one of the greatest games ever in my opinion. For up to 2 points, with 0.5 points per play, name "trick" plays in football.
(Hint, if you coach football, they are called the dirty dozen)

#9. I happen to like Aussie rules football as well, even though I don't understand it very well. Name the most dominant team in Aussie rules football over the past 10 years.

WORLD RELATIONS
#10. Which former British Prime Minister was renowned for witty statements such as "I may be a snake in the grass, but you sir, could pass under me with a top hat on." This PM was also an accomplished author.

#11. What was the precursor to the United Nations that failed rather miserably at world peace?

SCIENCE
#12. Rapid City has some wacky weather. As a result of it, I happen to follow the weather quite a bit. What is the name of lightning that doesn't accompany a storm or thunder?

#13. Peer reviewed journal articles are a mark of honor amongst researchers. Name the oldest and still one of the most respected peer reviewed journals in publication today. (Hint, the U.S. media loves it because it is not overly technical.)

Send the answers to me via PM. Depending on the sites stability, you have a week or so. I'll post updates as the deadline nears.
