OK, I've played by means of turning off firewall. However, Civstats still shows Russia as Peter and I could not change to Catherine.
Surprizingly, but the map between Russia and Rome looks rather crowded. It seems that a battle against the dreaded Praetorians is inevitable.

Also wanted to ask is dificult on Noble for some purpose? Because this would mean higher than "normal" tech pace even without tech trading.

Depends on what you find normal. My level is prince. But I guessed it doesn't matter. Noble is actually normal b.t.w. in the sense that there are no (dis)advantages between AI and humans. Not that it matter here, but that's what makes it standard to me.

yeah prince/monarch i would say for MP games but noble is the 'actual' normal. Im quite happy to continue though
