That is also the question that popped to my head.

A classmate of mine who is two years older than me at 46 or 47 just married a 58 year old american guy. He's bold and fat, and has a lowly job but he's really very nice to her kids who are ... exactly 8 and 11. Must admit she's not a princess herself.

Pirates is really nice, but I wish it'd be possible to flip the interface. The ipad version compares favorable to the pc and psp versions, though I have to admit that after all those hours I've put in the pc version I can't really find the motivation to put another 100+ hours in this game.
Also, hi.

Yep, two good kids too. Pirates on the iPad is pretty fun but it didn't take long to master swashbuckler. Trying to figure out some crazy variants already. Any other fun (age appropriate) games I can load? The boy loves sports and can name all the soccer teams in the world. Recently, explained to me why the French National Team has two stars. The girl likes to dance on pirates.

Games my kids like on the iPad
- Cut the Rope (and I like it as well ) - FlightControl (Brilliant on touch control, beats the pc version) - Contre Jour (Good graphics, similar to Cut the Rope gameplaywise) - Angry Birds - Push Panic - TapZoo ( freemium model, not my favorite because of that) Games I like but my kids don't play (yet) - plants vs zombies (PC version has more content though) - Creeps (also tower defense. Well done and quite a bit of free content)

never played it on the iPhone.
For the ipad it is free and that includes a few free map packs and if you want to continue after that you can buy map packs as well. I'm still busy with getting all achievements on the regular campaign but the map packs appear to be fair value to me.

Ah, let me know if you do. The game appears to be exactly the same but after having completed it (with the achievments and all) on the iphone I didn't particularly want to play it again on the ipad.

I've read good revies on Anomaly Warzone Earth as well. I own it for the PC and I think it's a fun game and I can see it work really well on touchcontrol.
Essentially it's a reversed TD game. Towers are set up and you need to maneuver your convoi through them. If you're looking for some new TD action on the iPad it might be worth looking at. It isn't free though, iirc they chage € 2,39
