Knowing my luck with rolls of the dice I'd have gotten Strastad at most, then faced a bitter, archer-whipping Matrix for a long time. With all the jungle in my lands, you could have sent teams of two or three archers all over, keeping me from developing.

Nah, in the end it was a good call. I couldn't kill you, and you could always out-settle, out-defend me. Or just fucking settle all over to force me to either deal with hordes of archers forever or capture useless cities. A spite game, but I could not take that risk.
