Default vs. LT Killer M., part 1 **spoiler**

Chailman Taulendil of the chinese vs. King Enrico of the spanish.
Emperor, pangea, the rest is yet to be discovered.
I'll be posting progress regularly.

Sadly, by turn 2 my beautiful watercolor graphics somehow became very impressionist, so next shots will likely feature Snoopy's.

Yes it's great. There are a couple of bonus grasslands in the 21 too.
Killer reported he had 2 wheats to start with so I'm guessing he has faster growing and I have more production? Perhaps that means I'll be focusing a bit more on early military than early settler rush. That's uncharted territory for me though.

As always, you are encouraged to comment on anything.

1- Settle straight away, this is a great starting position indeed. Move worker to irritate the cow
6- Warrior built, sent west. I'm roading the furs next. Will keep the forest for now and probably cut it down when i build my granary.
9- Another warrior built, sent east.
10- Pop a hut and get a settler . Killer got one too a bit earlier so it's only fair . Going to walk closer to home before i settle. I haven't found a good spot yet.
12- Meet Egypt. I give warrior code for ceremonial burrial + 10 gold. Build my 3rd warrior. I've never heard of pottery , so i switch to settler. Let's hope i discover an enlightened culture that can teach me before this settler is done. I pop a deserted hut.
15- Pop a hut: barbs.
16- I still haven't found a good spot for my free settler, so i found Shangai in a mediocre spot.
17- As pottery is still a big mystery to me, Half of Beijing's population packs their bags and moves out on their own.
18- Meet Carthage. I could trade techs, but i will wait until i discover the Wheel to get a better deal.
Now usually I do this in 20 turn slices, but i just had to report this:
21- Give The Wheel, warrior code and ceremonial burrial to Carthage for alphabet, worker and 10 gold. Give alphabet and the Wheel to Egypt for bronze working and 2 workers

and why is your name spelled wrong in the game Taulendil? Is it because you're playing the Chinese (plaatsje bij laam?) or was Mel drunk again when he made your map. (or probably both)

I settled on the plains west of where the settler is in the pic. Normally i would settle a bit closer to my capital, but i prefer my cities on the coast and not 1 tile away from it. In the long run, a flood plain tile is better than plains (4 food w/o rr instead of 2 food and 1 shield), so thats another reason to settle on the plains.

That's all Mel's work. Allthough i might not be entirely innocent : check the map request thread.

22- Found Canton.
25- Pop a hut in the south, get a warrior
26- Build a settler in Beijing. I send him to the newly discovered wheat and grapes near the egyptian border. The shape of the border reveals it to be Thebes.
27- Finally discover pottery. Set Beijing and Shanghai to granary. Beijing will be an almost decent settler factory, and Shanghai can get a settler in now and then without completely destroying itself each time. I start research on writing, due in 22 turns.
30- I am clearing a couple forests to speed up the granaries.
32- Canton builds worker. I'm not sure what to do there now. I've got 2 cities set for granaries and settlers, so i start on barracks. Found Nanking in a great spot: wheat and grapes, food galore.
34- Pop a hut, get a warrior
35- Aaarghg, civil disorder in Beijing . Pop a hut, deserted .
36- The forest i cleared near Shanghai reveals a bonus grassland . Pop a hut, get 25 gold. I meet Persia, they have nothing to trade for.
38- Shanghai builds granary, settler due in 5, but it will be back to size 1 then. Not exactly a settler factory, but that's ok, i have to build troops as well.
39- Beijing builds granary, settler due in 5 (will be 4), and this one can keep the growth up too. Nanking builds worker, setting to barracks.

And now especially for Dr. A's modem: pictures of the world!

First off: this land is all mine *cough*
