I agree with krys, mostly: pics are fine - to an extent! At most they should be three lines of standard type high, not animated, and decent (so they do not distract me too much from the post).

In posts with little content, the user should be encouraged to disable his/her sig, so that it is no bigger than the post.

Yeah yeah yeah, I think I know where it is. I turned it off because I think it can be annoying, but mainly to avoid having spambots with porn in their signatures. When I saw Matrix' sig I figured that we had it enabled on the old site. And now I'm confident we're fairly spambotproof, so I'll enable it. If I can find it

and if you are still SOOOO upset with them you can always go into your USER CP and click off "Visible Post Elements" to have it not show signatures..

I'm ok, as long as the height doesn't exceed the limit for say they avatars (100 pixels). If they get too large and too animated, the whole site looks like shit.

Personally, I like a clean look with no pics, but I do realize we have some creative people that will do good stuff with the space

I guess, saying that no one should use something taller than an avatar, could be a good compromise.

I don't know if we need some hard rule for that.

BTW, I need to set some avatar for myself...I guess I'll be using the one that Misfit once made me for CFC...I am not really active there anyway...

What, so everybody sees the pr0n besides me? That's unfair! Anyway, I enabled bb-code image tags for signatures. I haven't figured out how to limit image sizes in signatures, but there's a lot of crap how to limit signature size in general. I kept that unchanged (no conscious choice), but if you're using pics you might encounter such a problem. Let me know what it should be set to.

I haven't enabled uploading signature images. Should it be enabled? I'd rather not have everyone uploading a lot of crap. But then again, we haven't had any problems ever anyway.

I think animated avatars are enabled. I think your avatar was one of the few that was actually imported with the site move. Perhaps you should upload it again, I think it should work.

Or instead of uploading just use the URL option and let it point to 'old' civ3duelzone.com location of your avvie. That should work as well
