Well, SirEric accidentally clicked end turn before he attacked anything in turn 2.

I had to kill 10 of Sir Erics armies to capture Africa and South America, and so lost an equal portion capturing those, whilst i only killed 2 of tubbies armies in the middle east.

And tubby got a good portion of Asia in the random distribution of territories.

Well, as long as you can hold the Middle East, there is still hope.

(it also depends on the mission I guess)

There is no special territory that wins it in this flavour of the game. its world domination..

The attacks and fortifications take a little getting used to, but I'm well on my way to choking and not meeting expectations.

I made a bit of a boo boo last turn I should have had 9 armies in egypt...now i have left it open for tubby to take a bit of Africa..he did and i could not re-capture the middle east. I hope Sir Eric helps out here, or we are done for:
