I don't check civstats except to find out whether there's a new turn to play and I think I've deleted an email by mistake.

Agreed, on the other hand it is also not very good style to just not play turns anymore for 2 weeks or so. This will unbalance the game.

I try to do my best to pre-order things: set build queues, give movement and build orders, etc. So if I miss a turn unexpectedly, it is not as bad as it looks. I wish my life was well-ordered, and I had ample time. Things looked fine when the game started. However, now things are shitty, but you are very welcome to slave for me for 10 hours a week, just taking up the shit caused by other people's lazyness, so that I have more time for CIV.

I think we have a misunderstanding, I wasn't referring to you but to NHJ. If you login every couple of turns you can still manage your empire. If you do not login for 2 weeks that wont work IMO. Still there might be situations where this just happens. I don't know NHJ well enough to judge.
