Your daily life in few or many words
Right now I am sitting at one of the 2nd floor pc-rooms at the university of Oslo. I am writing a paper on corporatism.
Paper should be 5 pages long, excluding litterature list and front page. Doing ok so far, but I ve spent 6 hours worth just writing the damn thing. 9-10 hours adding time spent reading the necessary parts of the curriculum. Not that I m going to spend much time complaining about that. Instead, I want it to illustrate how my days are spent. Usually, I wake up at 6 o clock, shower, have breakfast with Anette, go to the subway and ride it to the university. I am usually at the university around 0755 unless something weird happens. Then I either check mail etc for an hour, then read some books in political science (I have 3 courses this semester), or I have a seminar (where I either hand in a paper like this or listen to someone else having done the same). I write 1 paper per seminargroup, and oppose the findings of another participant, and lastly I shadow write with another participant. Though boring as hell, that is the first part of the day. Next is lunch with a good friend, as long as he is not spending 2-3 hours working out... I have taken to spending less time at the gym because of more stuff to read. Some days have lectures. Usually only 1, but today I had 2 in a row, from 1400 till 1800. Ouch! And if I am in the mood, I sit til either 2000 or 2200. Today I am gonna go home around 2100 I think, because I am tired now, and I miss Anette. Actually I get little time for Anette, so she is complaining. Which indirectly could have some unfortunate consequences for pbeming, but I dunno yet. 2-3 times a week I am at IKEA for 4-5 hours. If not there on saturdays, I try to spend first half of the day reading. So I get some time for Anette (whom is also spending much of the day in school related activities), and I anticipate weekends. Unfortunately, weeks go by quickly, and I am already worried about exams approaching faster than I can manage to go through the curricula. But I have a feeling I ll pull all B's this semester, including retaking a course I got a D in (macroeconomics...) 4 exams is the end of the line for this semester. Parties - nah, no time We prioritise eachother and friends first, movies or cinema second and parties if able to... Oh. and sometimes I even manage an hour lifting weights. I really got to increase that to 2-3 times a week...but I then feel like I am neglecting reading... damn tradeoffs

Started to make todays overview by the hour, got another blue-screen-of-death.
Abbreviated version: - Lots of phonecalls - Tons of e-mail - Been chasing a lot of people - 250 kilometers of driving - 5 minute lunch break - 3 meetings (I hate meetings and actively minimize to the min.) - 1 successfull escalation to EMEA level - 1 big issue solved, prevented another one to occur - Boss is happy about my work and shared her thoughts on how others were performing today - Managed to relax the agenda for tomorrow in the process. - 11 chargable hours today.

Tomorrow I should go to Paris to find some work. With nothing to do, I tend to do nothing else and that is consuming me. The only thing I want is to work and get some money. Career is not a word in my vocabulary. I have other dreams...

I woke up at 10:00 to go to two colleges, until 15:00. I have one college a day on average. (Tomorrow I'm free.)
When I got back home (and bought some groceries on my way home) I actually should've studied, but as usual I took too much time reading fora and answering e-mails. Then again, I haven't answered all the e-mails I received past week, so I had some cleaning up to do. I did not play any PBEM today. Then I warmed up yesterday's diner and ate that, while watching the news on TV. Finally I had a board meeting of the provincial department of the christian democrats. (Provinciaal algemeen bestuursvergadering van CDA.) I'm part of the daily council, by the way. -------------- That was today. In general: - I attend colleges. - I study, but check fora and e-mail too often while doing so. - Occationally I go to a party or a get-together ("borrel") of a students' union, study's union or the young christian democrats. - I attend meetings of the daily council of the provincial christian democrats, both young and adult, and attend political activities.

A Day in the life of a Redneck from South Dakota.
Wake up around 6:45 when the wife's cell phone alarm goes off. Cuddle with wife for ~10 mins. Get up, have breakfast/prayer time. Get dressed go to work ~ 7:20-7:35 Bike like a madman for ~ 3 miles to get to work. Get to work ~ 7:45, check emails, forums etc. Maybe do some real work Go to lunch ~ 12:00, bike 3 miles in reverse. Head back to office after 20 mins. Arrive back at office and attempt to make micro circuitry, enough to convince people to give us money. Get out of the office between 5:00 and 6:00 (most nights) Go and lift some weights or play soccer or football. Get home around 7:30. Watch some T.V. and eat some food. (Apparently I eat more at supper than Rik does all day.) Listen to the wife tell me about how hard school (college) is and how I need to install a sound card in my home computer. Go to bed at 9:00 ish Go to sleep at 9:30 ish I will let your imagination fill in that blank time.
