more of a trial and error game. on the fifth try I got 1178 points.

My highest is <s>702</s> 1528. I don't do it strategically, it's luck.

1145 on 2nd try. Pure luck. Interesting to see how the shapes tend to order themselves after the chainreaction.

Indeed. Luck is the main factor here. Considering the domain this game is on, I d say that this game is more about noting how the curves sort after turning, than about "scoring".

They do seem to sort in an orderly fashion.

Something I noticed: There is a maximum score to be achieved. I don't know how high, but there is a max score.

If you look at a random start. I've marked the balls that can't ever be moved -unless started with- black. Let's call them "black balls".

As a consequence of that there are balls -red- who can only move 3 times at max, as they than have their line-endings pointing towards the sides or to a black ball.

This continues cancelling out more and more balls.

But what about a start without any "black balls", or if you start with the only black ball, "unblacking" it? Well; soon enough you'll have a black ball, no matter what.
In my pictures, if you look at the most south-western ball, it canonly turn 3 times at max, as it then has its line-endings facing south and west wall. It then becomes a "black ball" and from there the stop pattern starts as well.

So eventually all balls will be "black" and game over. I feel no urge to calculate the maximum score though ...
