No, I won't program anything, I don't have the skills nor the will. But maybe in such a game it would be important to have less "units" to move on the map ? In Civ3 the game is becoming boring when you have dozens of stuff to do every turn everywhere ; I'm thinking of units that would be combined in bigger stacks, etc... leading to less time dedicated to movement, time that could be used for other strategic tasks and this way of playing.

I definitively think it is a feasible idea for human-only games (kind of a crossover between Civ and Diplo ?).

As for turn-based games like Civ, I also would like SP and MP to be played in the exact same technical way. Hope for Civ4 : written from scratch + MP thought from the beginning = goodie goodie.

The way Civ4 was developped (less units, MP-friendly, better AI, attack/defense becomes strength...) makes this idea more appealing. I've also tried the Diplomacy video game demo tonight. Not much to do there (the demo), but then you realize you have a video game where the AI can play Diplomacy with you. Another sign that this idea is interesting, I think.

The next question is whether such a mod could be written for Civ4. My guess is NO, but then I don't know why I'm talking about (Civ4's possible moddibility).

And by now, I've really started to learn programming. I guess I could try a small thing once I'm done with the projects and exams...

Well, good luck with it! But be careful: it's a long step from being able to program to being able to make big programs. But if you wanna program a real game, start with a basic framework and keep it very simple. Once that (perhaps uninteresting) game is finished, build it up: tweak and improve, step by step.

I think I'll first finish my Pacman-like "game" in C. I was happy to have something, but it is clearly not finished. After that I'll start to program Duke Nukem or Zelda : Twilight Princess.

Civ4 should be in Primary schools... the kids love to play this graphics..

Civ3c should be in College for the strategy it takes to play online in multiplayer mode.

Emperor has said.
