I meant like the ladder page that generates the results from day 1 onwards - or do you do that seperately and then copy the results in to the first post?

Ah. The ladder is calculated in a sophisticated spreadsheet, I've to add the results manually. That sucks big time of course, but besides writing the initial spreadsheet it's hardly time consuming. I could make a internetpage for it, but copy paste into the top post here is much easier than that.

the database that ProPain uses updates the civ rankings as well...weather i got it right or not i am not sure...
I am waitng for ProPain to comment.

This is the one produced by the database. I see some differences, not quite sure where the originate from. I'll write the simple view queries this weekend so we all can see civ ladder, player ladder and running games. I'm still wrestling with the scripts that will add data to the database....

Is there a weighting factor for good and bad players?

A civ should get less points, if a good player wins with it.
It should get more points, if a bad player (like me) wins with it!

So you want to make a civ ladder adjusted for player ladder too! That's becoming a bit to complicated for my taste.

With a second thought , I guess it's even more complicated.

A player should get less points, when he wins with a strong civ, and more when he wins with a weak civ.

So we would need to compare
Strength(Player1) * Strength(Civ1) vs. Strength(Player2) * Strength(Civ2)

which would give us a set of linear equations.

We also would have to account for the fact, that some Civs are stronger on certain maps and weaker on others, and therefore we'd have to introduce a map-correction-factor into strength(CivX).



(Not to be taken seriously. Just kidding.)
