So I should just start training 23 y.o... Hm. Anyway, as my forwards are approaching retirement and my wingers are getting too expensive to train I'm considering switching back to training forwards again. Would that be wise or should I just invest a lot of time on the transfer market to buy new forwards and cope with the fact that I have just sold my two wingers (tc shows 5 and 4 million respectively, wow) and play without wing attack? Tough choice.

Currently, transfer prices you get when selling a trainee are low (of course that also means buying players is cheaper). But indeed that makes training slightly elder players more worth it then if we have high prices.

AFAICS, training FTW would only be worth it, if you train for your team. They are better in strength IMO than what the market pays for.

Younger players still train faster, so it's rather a matter of price differences (you get more for younger players once they are fully trained), but I currently haven't got a good overview about that.

Just FC, not FTW.

Ahh, I thought you would train your winger trainees in scoring after switching...

Sorry.

Would training passing be an option? It doesn't increase your players salary much while increasing their skill. And you can keep them around for some time...

That would be an option if I was content with the team I have now. My midfielders are too old to be trained, and besides my defensive forward my FC's are too old to train as well. My main forward is something like 34 and 3 weeks injured, so that basically means I have no forwards. I could buy one (or two, or three, or four) easily with the 20M or so I have in the bank, but I am too lazy to buy players.
