I might be interested but I cannot run the thing, I mean Pitboss, for some reason. Posted at CFC long time ago and in other fora to no avail. I managed to start it before patch 1.61 however while after the patch it stopped working. Has someting to do with encoding. Seems it does not like to start because of Russian WinXP version. I'll give it another try though over the weekend.

The problem is that my Pitboss program does not start at all due to some error in character encoding so I cannot play at the moment.

You dont need a pitboss program to join. Only the host does. You just have to use the civ4 game to connect.

OK, I'm interested.

I can't play before Thursday, but then I could join as an AI or so.

I don't know if I can take every turn but it seems to be the idea of Pitboss that it is not that bad when you miss a turn.

Will be my first multiplayer Civ4 game, so you shouldn't expect me to know the differences (but I already read a little bit)

I have tried that with some older patch (1.52) and I was unable to join because of the same encoding problem. I then was able to fix it by decompiling Russian python encoding table from the library but in 1.61 this did not work. However, I have not tried joining without PBoss running, might worth a shot.

It'll be tomorrow at the earliest before I have the pitboss machine up, anyway.

Be mindful that it is a lowly Celeron 500 with 256MB RAM, so a huge map is probably not a good idea.
