No, it's a lot simpler. The rest is crap and usually satisfied with reaching a semi-final spot.

Well, I never thought about it that way, but there might be some truth in that, not?

World cup football
I wanted to rub some salt in the wounds after the injury of Ballack, but now I've finally found a good reason to open this season's world cup thread: *click*

Ballack? No salt in no wound for me. I am not really a fan of the German national team anyway (btw, why is the German team the only national team without a name anyway?)
I am more interested in the results of the Bafana Bafana. Or the Socceroos. Or La Roja (but I don't mean the team that is also called La Furia Roja) But I will surely watch the German games, because you have to, because everyone is talking about it... Funny thing: In Germany the national team is called "die Nationalmannschaft" which is not a nickname but the German word for "national team", I have read somewhere that in some other countries people think that "Mannschaft" would be the nickname for the German national team, but this even only means "team" ( English Wikipedia lists "Die Mannschaft" and "DFB-Elf", the latter one can count as a nickname; DFB = German football association, and for non Dutch or German speakers: Elf = eleven )
