Valverde's out too. And so is Dekker. Amazing last jump today by Kessler, with Boogerd trying and failing.

With the pace this is going there won't be any favourites left by the time they reach the mountains...

Thrilling stage in the end today (but also yesterday). Sad for Valverde, I would have even bet money on him when Basso and Ulrich were in (if I had bet money).
Maybe this year a sprinter can win the yellow jersey with all those time bonifications

Amazing result today, I totally agree with tour director Leblanc: yesterday Hushovd reclaimed his yellow jersey after losing it by that stupid accident the day before. Today Kessler wins the stage after getting caught 50m for the finish yesterday. Leblanc said something like : It makes me feel good to see these fair results.
Pity Dekker and Valverde had to leave, at this rate the last man standing will win in Paris. I did enjoy the first stages very much though, they seemed more exciting than the usual first week mass sprint routine.

Oscar Freire, to that guy I have a special relationship as his only TdF win was at "our" stage to Saarbrücken 2002. I was standing ten meters before the finish line...

This has been a strange Tour. I cant beleive that Honchar won the TT and managed to get a minute on anyone. I think teh next 2 stages will be very telling or it will just further confuse stuff. IF not, then its going to be next Tuesdays up the Alp d'huez that should finally determine whos a player and who is a pretender. I have followed the tour for 10 years now and this one is just a mess but it makes it so much more interesting to follow.
