the moves of turn one are quite obvious to me:
14.53 KB the hut is emtpy , but moving off northwest I meet the Shinese. They have warrior Code but will not trade it. Well, another hut is emtpy but the third gives me Warrior Code.... I decide on a scout/farm gamble. Some time later I meet a huge Scandinavian stack - headed towards China??? Masonry nets me CB and 10 Gold. Mao still is quite arrogant about his knowledge: 8.56 KB around 31oo BC there is fighting in China - the Koreans msut be drunken with victory as they give me Alphabet for Masonry and pottery and throw in 7 Gold. I quickly sell all around that I can and net seom 40 more Gold as contacts between all AIs are imminent. 2850m BC see a Granary done, now I will settle settle settle like crazy. The forests with game get cut as two bonus grass are mined.

Unfortunately I did not keep notes, screen or saves until 2510BC as I played it in one quick session. I got full advantage from the Expansionist trait by getting a settler (or was it advanced tribe ) on an early hut, hope I wont be the only one... I built 4 scouts and went for maximum contacts and trades, could get an early min science gamble on Mathematics going. I have all first level techs except The Wheel. Contact with Korea, China, France, Egypt, Viking. China is already to close for comfort, they will be the first to go... Here is my lands : And my minimap : 3.92KB

Now that I read Killer's spoiler I dont believe a settler move was "obvious" ...
Especially since the second game on Forest does not appear on his shot. Also moving the settler down would lose one bonus grassland (the one W, SW) but I am probably missing the point here what did you mean Killer ?

Sky: the two shield 2 food tile in the first nine (i.e. the game) made the move obvious for me.

Oh OK...
For me (in my opinion) : when Industrious, the move to get a bonus shield in the first 9 (that you will get in 10 turns anyway) is wasted.

Ok - settled where I stood. Scout went west, worker went east. Didnt keep notes but China is settling very aggressively and I had to grab the iron with a culture snatch. I'm getting squeezed along the coast but there is a lot of potential with cattle and game.

62.87*KB First I sent the scout west & north, when I saw lands werent better I sent worker east because that would be the first spot the work if I would settle on spot. I decide current location is best and settle on the spot Build 3 scouts and started roaming the lands. In 2510BC I met all civs but one, am tech par(1st row + myst) and have bled all ai dry financially. NOt too shabby. NY was a settler from a hut founded onspot. 3650BC - BW from hut 3600BC - Meet Vikings, I trade MAsonry for WC+10gold 3400BC - Get settler from hut, found New Yourk on the spot 3350BC - Get 25 gold from hut 3250BC - Discver ceremonial burial, vikings got it 1 turn b4 me 3200BC - Meet korea, They have alphabet and 60 gold, but lack masonry, pottery and cer burial. They want all my techs and 25 gold for alpha No deal 3050BC - Korea wont drop the alphabet price and I decide to give in before they meet other civs 2900BC - pop hut, empty 2800BC- Get the wheel for alpha and 2 gold (dunno from who ) 2750BC - empty hut, meet celts, they;re standing next to a scandinavian scouting warrior [grr] just a sec too late. I sell alphabet to scandinavia for myst and 10 gold. Switch to min poly gambit 2710BC - Meet egypt, sell myst for 10 gold to cleo. Sell myst to korea for 85 gold, apparently I forgot to check them 2 turns ago. 2670BC - Meet france, they're tech par 2630BC - Get maps of the region from a hut 2510BC - Korea and China are at war. Dunno if they have been for long but I see a fight in the interturn. Lets hope this fight will last. 2510BC map 221.62*KB
